Guest wifi outside of VPN

I have AC68U with Merlin ROM (latest stable FW as of today).
I have setup a VPN client and Policy Routing so all my local LAN is behind the same VPN service.

Since the router does not keep up with the same transfer speed when using VPN it would be of interest to enable the guest network(s) and route the devices connecting to the guest wifi outside of the VPN service. Is that doable? If so how would one do it?

I think you could use YazFi found here. It does all kinds of stuff, you may or may not find it helpful.
