So in our home we recently purchased it came prewired with ceiling mounted speakers with volume controls in the room.
There are 3 zones
Kitchen
Dining Room
Bunk House (attic)
Each room has speakers wired and a volume control knob
The audio source comes from the living room .
I had it running temporarily with a Onkyo M-5010 2-Channel Amplifier powering the speakers but I believe it was too much for that device as it would only run for a few mins before powering down as protection of drawing too much current. Eventually it stop working all together
But ultimately it would get the audio from the receiver and although my receiver did have the ability to provide 2 seperate sources of audio (one of viewing tv, and the other for the house speakers Radio for example) it seemed kinda clunky to setup and had limited usage
What would you do in this situation, I was thinking is there away to hook an amazon echo to the speakers or maybe have each room controlled independently by rewiring near the volume control.
Looking for ideas because right now it's just going to waste
