Hi

I 'm try to configure the router HP Procurve 1810-24G on the other side I have two marvell ethernet cards and W7 64 - bit

If I configure the Marvell drive as "dynamic" and the swich ports as

Port Trunk M M on the ports 12 and 13
LACP L L on potrs 12 and 13

the connection drop after some minutes

If I configure the Marvell drive as "static" and the swich ports as "static" all go well

Why happen that? How can avoid the drop issue whe I set the ports as "Dymanic"?

regards

Ugo

If you're configuring a trunk as well as LACP, that won't work. The Marvel link utility will only work in Dynamic mode when you're connected to LACP enabled ports. LACP is dynamic which means you don't configure a trunk...you just enable LACP on the ports and let the switch and NIC negotiate the link aggregation.

Btw, don't expect much in the way of bandwidth increase by using two NICs with LACP in your workstation. It's only usefull really in a server enviroment to service multiple clients simultaneously...where you will see a big difference. That said, both Netgear and Qnap support various modes of dual NIC load balancing. It would be very interesting to test these various modes with the 3 modes Marvel NIC teaming supports. There's at least 20 different cominations to check there. There may be a combination that does actually increase bandwidth to a workstation beyond 110 MB/s.

Hi,

if I don't set the value in trunk section I have no connetion at all. I notice that if I disable energy star after that the to adatpers go down, they go up for other 5 minutes. After that the adapters went down and if enable the energy they go up for other 5 minutes
