New Around Here
In the file explorer in Windows 7, my new NAS doesn't show in 'Network' under 'Computer'.
When I type in the name, \\servername, in the address bar it does show.

The situation is a real problem on dialogue boxes, where I cannot type in the address, but have to browse the tree (e.g. Roboform User Data).

I read about WINS servers, but I only have a home network and this s no option.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, since I'm out of ideas?

I get this sometimes with dialogue boxes

My work around was to put a shortcut to the NAS on the desktop (e.g //192.168.0.2)
or
Pin the shortcut to the favourites section

When using a dialogue box, you can navigate to the desktop or click the shortcut pinned to the favourites

Hope that makes sense

Good idea. I now use 'recent' to find the place.

But I'd like to solve the real problem. It comes back in every situation.

Does it have something to do with caching (I used to use another NAS with the same name)?
Which part of my system is administrating the occurrence of the computers in my network?

I'm taking a guess now, but have you set the Workgroup to be the same on your NAS as on your PC, as it can be a configuration that can easily be missed when setting up the NAS

Sometimes this can cause your problem
