On the VPN client page where the rules are listed, would it be possible to modify it a bit?

Currently, for an existing rule, you can only delete it. I believe a relatively simple change will improve it for the following situation:
  • You've set up a rule to route traffic for a specific IP address through the WAN
  • You want to modify it so data goes through the VPN
  • Later, or occasionally, you may want to modify the rule to have traffic to go through the WAN
A suggestion is as well as deleting the rule, have a command to Edit the rule. When the rule is edited, the rule is deleted and the fields for a new rule are pre-populated with the data that had already been specified for the rule being deleted. Then changes could also be made and the new rule saved.

An additional command can also be added to clone/copy a rule. All that would do is pre-populate the new rule fields with the values for the row selected. This would be useful when you need to create more than one rule for a specific situation like the destination uses several public IP addresses.

Perhaps this functionality could also be useful on other pages where similar lists are maintained.

I'll try to make the change locally and then may try to make a pull request with the changes.
