It most certainly doesn't do that on any of my systems.
Clear browser cache and try again, if that doesn't help power off the router ( remove plug from power supply) leave for 5 minutes and power on again.

I believe there's something wrong with UI in the last couple releases. It is broken on my several macOS and iOS devices rinning Safari. Desktop Chrome works OK but desktop Safari and mobile Safari and Chrome on iPad display glitches all over the place, pages constantly reloaded after crashes and so on. Does anyone use Safari to work with web UI?
AC5300 if important.
What is also curious I cannot update the router from Safari. It uploads firmware file, indicates updating progress bar but after reboot the fw version stays the same. In Chrome though all works like a charm.

I installed 380.64 and everything was working great...until i noticed the flashing ! notifying me I am almost at maximum for NVRAM.

What can a NON linux coder do to free up space on the NVRAM? I read at some other site to use a flash drive and put
ca.crt, user.crt, user.key
on it so the router looks for that info on the flash drive? and not on the NVRAM?

How much space will be saved by doing that? and can a NON coder be given simple instructions to be able to do it?

My only reason for using asuswrt is to use vpn on the router for all attached devices.

I took the plunge and updated my AC5300 from 380.4164 to 380.64 and it is running without a problem. I am seeing the following afpd related log entries, but TimeMachine is working fine for two computers.

Code:

Hi there,
Am I doing something wrong, or are the DNS Filter add/delete controls broken in this build?

I spoke too soon... TimeMachine is failing now on the client side wit the following in the system log:
Could be an out of memory situation: Do you have a a swap file get around memory shortages?

What can a NON linux coder do to free up space on the NVRAM?

Do a factory default reset, and manually reconfigure everything. Otherwise, you HAVE to dive into the shell, determine which entries are taking too much space and considered obsolete, and manually clean things up.

Am I doing something wrong, or are the DNS Filter add/delete controls broken in this build?

Works for me. Try a different browser, and make sure you don't have any client with funny/weird names, or using apostrophes. If you open your web browser console, it will show you what is causing a Javascript error breaking the page.

I'm having a problem with my RT-N66U where when I copy large file (8GB for example) into any attached USB drive, the router would crash. It totally stop responding and all services are unavailable including access to internet to the clients. I tried the following methods to copy the file and all caused the router to crash,
  1. Connected via SSH and copy the file from attached disk 1 to attached disk 2 using "mv" or "cp". Router will crash. After a restart, the partial file is not available at the destination disk, meaning the file is never being created.
  2. Connected from a Windows PC via SAMBA shared directory. Copy from the PC and paste into the shared directory. Router will crash. After a restart, the partial file is not available at the destination disk, meaning the file is never being created.
However, if I download a file using transmission directly into the disk, it works properly.

Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64 is now available for all supported models.

Thanks for the update I just updated from a super old version 374.xx and my connection speed in bridge is a solid bars now with 877.5 Mbps connection speed. Before it would bounce to the 533 Mbps connection speed.

Ha! I believe you that it will, but I have no idea how to interpret it!
In any case, while it's happening in both Chrome and Firefox, and from my phone, it's apparently just an issue with the images loading. The button function still works if I click there, so it's not a show stopper.

Merlin, thanks again for the perennial holiday gift of this firmware!
Merry Happy!

If the issue is just the images, then something else is at play. If you have any plugin installed on both browsers (like an ad blocker), make sure it's not what's causing the files to fail to load.

Also try to flush your browser cache to see what happens.

No issues here with Safari. Are you connecting by IP or name? HTTP or HTTPS? Also, have you cleared the Safari's cache? When was the last time you reset the router back to factory defaults?

I've tried both ways. HTTPS, HTTP is blocked. As for Safari cache, I've even reinstalled the whole OS, nothing changed. And the problem exists on both of my Macs and an iPad. The only thing I haven't tried is resetting the router. Anyway it works well in Chrome though.

I have installed the latest version but after installing, transfer speed between HDD connected to USB3 to my computer decreased from 40MB/s to 500KB/s and almost impossible to use.
RT-AC68U

Meanwhile it is fine over the wifi just problem with LAN.

Any solution?

Turned out it was something deeper than just the images. The button area seemed to work, and the GUI would reflect the addition or deletion, but Apply would just hang with no percentage indicator and adds or deletions would not persist. Plus, changing settings often took me back to the login screen (which at first I thought was just a artifact of the new firmware, maybe the Chrome auto-fill handling or some such, but apparently no).

So I backed up the settings, did a factory reset (which was probably overdue) and re-flashed the .64 firmware.
The Filtering page images looked normal.
So then I restored my saved settings, wondering if I had some sort of setting corruption, but after the restore, everything still looks normal, and works properly now.

So the moral of the story is? When in doubt with a firmware upgrade, do a factory reset? I think I've probably seen that advice somewhere.
