Question @RMerlin for 384.11 and newer releases: Is the filesystem type passed along as second parameter for pre-mount for all router versions?
@john9527 has it already in his latest fork release and @ColinTaylor and I would appreciate it if you'd too.
I guess this would then automatically be used in @GNUton 's for his subsequent releases.

If I understood it correctly, I simply need to add the following to:
/jffs/scripts/firewall-start

Just configure the OpenVPN server to redirect WAN + LAN instead of LAN Only, no need for custom iptables rules.

Not sure what you mean by "all router versions". The code is model-agnostic, so it would apply for all the models that are supported by 384.11.

Im trying to find it. Here are my settings.

Router models I mean. And you answered that already. Thanks!

You already had it properly set to "Both", so no additional configuration is required.

This is the AiMesh service. If you ever used AiMesh on this router, best to do a factory default reset to remove any leftover configuration.

That library is closed source, so I have no idea what triggers a firewall restart from it.

I am also occasionally seeing this error on RT-AC1900P,version 384.10.2

The most recent was today, just after I had to reboot my VOIP device as it was no longer being seen from the router.
Apr 12 13:39:49 rc_service: amas_lib 481:notify_rc restart_qos;restart_firewall

I have also seen this error a few times on 384.9 and 384.10 as well.

As far as I know, I have done nothing whatsoever with AiMesh since I only have one router. I have certainly never seen an AiMesh icon on the Network map page.

Is this potentially an issue I need to deal with?

If you have exhausted all other possible fixes, then yes, a full reset to factory defaults is recommended if you want to get your router to a good/known state and to do further troubleshooting, if necessary.

Please see the link in my signature for further details. An M&M Config is what I would start with.

Good to know thanks :)

Question: when I'm home and check on the ExpressVPN page, it shows the IP of the country that I am connected to. When I'm remote and connect to my OpenVPN server, the same page shows the local IP. Is the traffic still router via the OpenVPN client even though the ExpressVPN page doesn't show it?

Upgrade AX88U from V384.10 Final to V384.10_2 Final, via dirty flash. All appears to be working, except for the following:

  • Networkmap listing may be unreliable. (Bug in Asus's code) - RMerlin's Changelog
  • Under "Adaptive QOS" | "QOS", QOS Configuration was reverted to defaults and did not keep my customization settings
  • Under "Adaptive QOS" | "Bandwidth Monitor", any of my "Network Map" List clients that I normally had set from "Highest" to "Lowest" were all back to "Default" color
  • Under "Traffic Analyzer" | "Traffic Monitor", under "Daily", I have data from March and April, but when changed to "Monthly", I only see "April" Data graphs

AX88U had been working great with the V384.10_2 Final FW, unfortunately after 9+ days, the router mysteriously rebooted itself around 5:30am and did not come back up until around 7:15am. My graphs show when internet connection was lost and when it was re-established, the router is on a UPS, and the System Logs shows the timeframe of when the router appeared to reboot, but how long it took to come back up is a mystery too me. I have captured the router's System Logs, cleared them, and have manually powered off the router and back on, and will start the clock again for how long the router can stay up, as this version and setup for me and my family has been one of the best so far.

Also, the unforeseen reboot caused this point of when I had upgraded my firmware as well:

Under "Adaptive QOS" | "Bandwidth Monitor", any of my "Network Map" List clients that I normally had set from "Highest" to "Lowest" were all back to "Default" color

Apologies if this is a known issue or already discussed, and perhaps it is a Diversion or Skynet question, but I've had trouble with keeping an entry in DNSfilter to stay persistent. A streaming media service of mine (PS Vue via Amazon Fire v2) will warn me of a date and time inconsistency and refuse to launch. When I exclude the device per the instructions on the Diversion FAQ via DNSfilter the problem is solved. For some reason though the DNSfilter parameter disappears from time to time, and has to be recreated.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Have you read change log? :p

384.10 is working great on my end.

My ISP is now throttling the VPN protocol connection and ports ( TCP and UDP ) and I am wondering if there's anyway to force the connection to use the SSL Protocol for AirVPN with Asus-WRT Merlin? Thanks!

My random reboots appear to have been fixed by turning off spanning tree protocol, was a solution I found on here, over 10 days uptime so far, no idea why that setting causes me random reboots.

Not quite following your issue...I also use PSvue on multiple devices such as Firetv and Apple TV. I've seen that error as well and what I did on my router was change it to google DNS. It seems to be better with google DNS servers than others I have tried. I do have my global filtering set to QUAD 9 so others are forced. Are you saying that your router loses that config somehow?? I also use Diversion and SKynet among other scripts here and haven't noticed that issue.

The only thing I have seen around here that deletes existing dnsfilter rules is the Stubby installer script. Do you use Stubby as discussed on these forums?

will .11 - it fixes the network mapping

where did you see this? i thought all .11 will add is dns tls in the gui stuff.
(remember asus broke this as part of it's dec'2018 wan security update)
i'm still on 384.8 because i can't live without good lan activity feedback,
and i doubt asus considers it much of a priority to fix anytime soon :(
