Working fine on my brand new rt-ac86u. Went from stock with no reset nor power cycle.
If I encounter any issues, I will reset.

RT-AC66U_B1
384.7 to 384.7_2 Quick and dirty, Everything working.

Having DDNS problems with freedns.afraid.org. When I set it up on the DDNS tab I get "Registration successful" prompt, but the system log shows:
Code:
Oct 13 06:45:37 inadyn[12392]: In-a-dyn version 2.5 -- Dynamic DNS update client.
Oct 13 06:45:37 inadyn[12392]: Update forced for alias xxxxxxxx.mooo.com, new IP# x.x.x.x
Oct 13 06:45:38 inadyn[12392]: HTTP(S) Transaction failed, error 36: Temporary network error (HTTPS send)

EDIT - Also, my custom DDNS script to update freedns.afraid.org works fine. There's definitely an issue with inadyn.

I have the same problem but just without "Failed resolving hostname" error. And my /jffs/scripts/wan-start script works just fine as well.
Code:
Oct 24 03:47:34 watchdog: start ddns.
Oct 24 03:47:34 rc_service: watchdog 304:notify_rc start_ddns
Oct 24 03:47:36 start_ddns: update FREEDNS.AFRAID.ORG default@freedns.afraid.org, wan_unit 1
Oct 24 03:47:39 inadyn[2177]: In-a-dyn version 2.5 -- Dynamic DNS update client.
Oct 24 03:47:42 inadyn[2177]: Update forced for alias lasman.info, new IP# 185.177.242.197
Oct 24 03:47:44 inadyn[2177]: HTTP(S) Transaction failed, error 36: Temporary network error (HTTPS send)
Oct 24 03:48:10 watchdog: start ddns.
Oct 24 03:48:10 rc_service: watchdog 304:notify_rc start_ddns
Oct 24 03:48:11 start_ddns: update FREEDNS.AFRAID.ORG default@freedns.afraid.org, wan_unit 1
Oct 24 03:48:12 inadyn[2221]: In-a-dyn version 2.5 -- Dynamic DNS update client.
Oct 24 03:48:17 inadyn[2221]: Update forced for alias lasman.info, new IP# 185.177.242.197
Oct 24 03:48:20 inadyn[2221]: HTTP(S) Transaction failed, error 36: Temporary network error (HTTPS send)

Also I can't make Let's Encrypt working with FreeDNS. Looks like it doesn't pass the validation thus can't auto-generate a certificate. However everything works jus great with asus.com DDNS

Hello Guys,

Do you have idea why Core1 on the GUI is at 100% and htop load 5/10/15 mins reports around 6.
The cpu bars in htop is mostly under 5%

Okay folks, I cold booted my router and the problem went away. I'm still observing now, router is only at 21mins uptime and couldn't tell if the issue reappears.

I didn't factory reset my router from 384.6, I went straight to 384.7_2
Do you think this can cause weird issues?

Another question, is factory resetting the router removes entware?

Why do I have all this lldpd stuff and also there seems to be "Operation not permitted" on some lines. Something not working please help.

Anyone upgraded from 380.68_x to 384.7_2? Was wondering if I could flash and forget about it or I will have to mess around. I have about 12 devices fixed in DHCP and Diversion running since 2 weeks only and a few personalized icons and that's about it, no QoS and other things.

Everything is working fine, maybe I should not touch it... like the famoujs sentence, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But there quite a few security fix since 380. But am I really vulnerable? So much questions...

@RMerlin

I am suddenly having an issue with 2.4ghz wifi on my AC86U.
The leds on the front of the router just come on.
The 2.4ghz wifi LED is out and is not broadcasting.g
In the GUI, the wifi icon is half, says 2.4ghz Channel 0.

5ghz and LAN still working fine.

This first happened this very early this morning, I was on 384.6. Router has been up and fine for weeks.
Power cycled and everything fine all day.
This evening, I flashed 384.7_2.
Only been up for an 1hr 50min.
And the it happened again. LEDs came on, no 2.4ghz.

Toggling Radio Off, then Apply, then On, then Apply. does not work.

Edit: Now it is shutting off 2.4 wif after about 20 min. I have nothing connected to that band at present to test this even.

Edit2: Not 2ghz is shutting off after just a couple minutes of power on, regardless of anything connected to it or not.

SOme things in the log:
Attatched

This is a hardware issue then, possibly related to overheating. Unrelated to the firmware.
