beamforcing is idd verry important
The 5GHz standard is ac beamforming, which remains enabled. Universal beamforming can be disabled. When it’s enabled, sometimes it causes compatibility issues with devices.

I just updated to this new release and now I am seeing a washed out screen displaying an Trend Micro end user agreement but can not accept or decline as it is totally dimmed out.

I have rebooted several time but it persists.

Please advise

Noticed something strange, I'll quickly explain my setup. AC88u as main router and a AC86u in AP mode. The 88u runs 2.4ghz wireless only, 5ghz radio turned off and the 86u is setup the opposite way. Both running 384.9 and reset both to factory after the upgrade ad manually entered in all my settings.

My issue is the 88u does not list all the clients even though it is the DHCP server. I also see this when trying to manually assign an IP address or just now in the QoS - WAN/LAN Bandwidth Monitor I can see something is currently downloading at 20Mb but the client is not listed. Could there be some kind of limit on number of clients that display?

Don't think it is a browser issue as same with Chrome/Firefox

E.G. of the number of clients each router is seeing at the same time snap

Known issue with Network Map, which is closed source and out of @RMerlin control. Oh and this problem has been posted so many times, I'm amazed that your "google fu" didn't work. Please search for your answer before asking.;):)

not just a network map issue

No issues here with 2 iPhones and 2 iPads on 5GHz. I only use 2.4GHz for my TVs. I’ve been on 384.9 for nearly 4 days of uptime, without disconnects.

If you haven’t already, some things you can try:

Forget your WiFi connections on those devices and reconnect them.

Manually set your control channel on 5GHz and 2.4GHz.

Make sure 2.4GHz channel bandwidth is set to 20MHz.

Under 5GHz wireless/professional settings, disable universal beamforming. (ac beamforming remains enabled)

If those don’t work, you may have to factory reset and manually enter your settings.

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I should clarify as well - my phone would connect to the wireless network (2.5 more reliably than 5GHz), however it doesn't connect to the internet, with either band. So something odd is happening with the connection. Also, in the Network Map page of Merlin, internet status shows Disconnected even though wired ethernet connected devices have internet access through the router.

Still out of @RMerlin control and has been reported several times now because people cannot read.

Okay, okay Skeal. Take it easy with the scolding. You're not a Den Mother here, and if people ask questions that have been asked and answered before, just let it go. If they're rude and uncivil about it (which Jspuds was not), then go ahead and break out your wagging index finger and let them have it. Your type of scolding does a lot more to ruin the culture in this forum than repeated questions.

I upgraded yesterday and my logs are full of entries like these (MACs sanitized):

Take it away bud!! You go!!;):)

Also, in the Network Map page of Merlin, internet status shows Disconnected even though wired ethernet connected devices have internet access through the router.

Could this be part of the problem? I've never saw my router tell me that my internet was disconnected until 384.9 which I believe introduced the new wan status check. I've unchecked both boxes and all seems well now. To be honest, I'm not really sure why the check is needed unless you are using a dual wan with failover mode. Perhaps someone can enlighten me. If the check is needed for your circumstance you might try the ping check. I believe others have been successful using 1.1.1.1 for the destination.

Had the same problem. Fixed it by resetting to factory defaults and then made only the minimal changes necessary to the wireless configuration, like wireless mode and channels. It did not fix all of my problems, but the problem you are experiencing did go away.

The connections in this case aren’t showing as “closed”, they are showing as “established”.

I think the problem may still be happening in 384.8_2 when the TV is “off”. After turning off the TV I started seeing the number of established connections begin to increase and it’s making DHCP requests about once a minute. I think what’s happening is that the TV wakes up and requests an IP address and makes its “wake up connections”.

When I turn the TV on though under 384.8_2, the active connections slowly begin to drop which wasn’t happening under 384.9.

So after 24 hours on 384.8_2, despite the aggressive amount of connections while the TV is off, it behaves normally while on and I’m not getting loss of Ethernet issues.

By this time with 384.9 my TV would have lost its network, which makes me think it’s something in the router causing this.

Ever since this release it always shows my internet is disconnected. I toggled off the dns query and ping in system tab without any good result.

I also get the WLCEVENTD logs entries like mentioned by swampkracker. The is the first release where i actually have some apparent issues going on :'(

I went back a version and all is well. Will wait for next revision.
