RT-N56U: USB Printer Sharing No Longer Works After Upgrading to 1.0.1.4m

I have upgraded to 1.0.1.4m and although the router sees my Canon USB printer in the GUI, Windows (Windows 7 Home 64-bit) does not detect it anymore. I have tried it on three different computers with no luck. I reinstalled the ASUS Printer Setup Utility a few times and that didn't help either. Printer was working fine over the network before the firmware upgrade. Any advice is appreciated.

There's a few bug fixes in this release. Downgrading will cause other issues.

I'm trying to figure out if others are experiencing this issue as well.

If the ASUS router correctly identifies your printer, then you appear to have a Windows adding network printer issue unrelated to the router's firmware; try adding the printer in Windows using the router's address.

Is the Asus your gateway router or an access point?

i wish there was. asus has official forums, but nothing for their networking stuff.

no offense to anyone here, but it could be a WHILE before you get the correct answer from someone here for a specific router.

Same problem, crappy firmware

I have the same problem.

I installed and everthing worked, I could print and so on.

After upgrading to 1.0.1.4m I lost connection to my printer from all my pc's.

I actually got 2 of them printing by manually adding the printer as a network printer and using the IP of the router, but now I have lost them again.

Printer utility is just hanging after trying to add.

Super sucks!

do you have a Windows PC that's mostly-always-on? If so, you can connect the printer to that PC, install drivers, and share it to the LAN.
