RT-N65U Discontinued?

Hello I was wondering if I can get some sense of the status of these routers.

I've been noticing that with other models there have been firmware releases fairly regularly, but for my router (RT-N65U) the last update was 3.0.0.4.376.3754 released 01/12/2015.

What has me worried is recently I put in a support ticket asking about future firmware releases, the response I got back was worrisome, they person had no clue what product I was talking about. After sending them the url link, the only response I could get from them was to download the latest firmware from that page.

I could have sworn I read discussion in the past on plans to add more features to the IPv6 side of the firewall in a future release, but it looks like there has been no movement at all on this.. Has this product been EOL'd and should we expect no more firmware updates?

The RT-N65U is not only an old router, but it is also based on a different chipset and driver.

It may be that the updates to this model may just take longer, or, Asus may have decided that the hardware no longer meets the minimum spec's of their current firmware platform (which aims to be as similar as possible for all supported models, as much as the underlying hardware allows, of course).

All you can do is wait. Install Padavan's firmware. Or, upgrade to a newer router, of course.

The RT-AC3100 or the RT-AC88U is what I am saving for today (from an RT-N66U that is still currently supported, btw).
