It will be amusing seeing routers in 2027 getting security patches in every country but USA, and potentially geo-blocks in place to prevent homegrown patching.

My guess would be use plan (a) everyone to classify all their new products as business class routers

I did not find this restriction in any links to official documents posted so far...

I found that university source to be rather brave in its journalism, considering the potential for repercussion.

Maybe ASUS will tighten its product security (as the EU has recently required) and reduce the number of models it pushes through whatever new approval process the US federal government cooks up. (I'm looking for the silver linings.)
