Forgive my ignorance but I don't want to assume anything as I'm new. Im simply asking if the fix applies to the rt-ac3100 as well as the rt-ac88u. I know that both routers are basically the same, but I don't know if the code would have to be changed to support both routers. I know the issue was fixed for the rt-ac88u , but does that mean it applies also to the rt-ac3100?

It does. The two routers are virtually identical, the fix applies to the dual band models (the triple bands AC3200/AC5300 were already fine).

http://www.snbforums.com/threads/faq-nvram-and-factory-default-reset.22822/

Reset the router to factory defaults. Do not use a saved backup config file to configure it. Use as few custom entries as possible to secure it and connect to your ISP. As you add each feature you require (I'd wait at least a few hours between each change, if not a day or more), test (before/after) to track down the possible culprit.

Or, you may just find that doing the reset (properly) was all that was needed for this otherwise inexplicable glitch to disappear. :)

Thanks for the help. I did as you said and i found the culprit, it seems that if i go to wireless-professional tab and try to deactivate the 5 GHz band my router (RT-AC66U) goes nuts and increases the boot time by two-three times.
If i activate the 5 GHz band every thing goes back to normal.
Is there another way to disable it ? I am not using the 5 GHz atm, so there is no need to keep it on, but it seems i can't disable it without my router going crazy on boot time.

And why the hell this page keeps appearing so many times, it opens my browser automatically if my router takes a long time to boot.

Are you still using 3831? Thanks

Yes. Asus hasn't released any newer GPL, and even if they did, there are no plan to upgrade the GPL in 380.62.

I confirm issues with client icons (when scaled) on Chrome v53.
BUT, no issues on Chrome v52!

Code:
7fc864f igmpproxy: custom config file should be named igmpproxy.conf, not just igmpproxy.
My hope was on this commit that i'll finally be able to watch IPTV on PC, but it didn't work :(

Here are my settings (IPTV STB on LAN4, VLAN 82 - works ok on TV; Internet on VLAN 2513 - for LAN1, LAN2, LAN3)
View attachment 7220

udpxy (port 4444) also doesn't stream IPTV (http://192.168.1.1:4444/udp/multicast_ip:multicast_port)
udpxy status shows Throughput: N/A for active clients

Please help with right settings to be able to watch IPTV on PC (separate VLANs).
Thank you!
Was udpxy working for you in earlier version? I too cannot get it to work in .61. Looks like traffic is just not flowing. When starting playback on VLC, I can shortly see client on the udpxy status page as active client, but after few seconds VLC gives up as it cannot get any stream and client disappears from udpxy status page. VLC error is

"core debug: net: connecting to 192.168.1.100 port 4000

core debug: connection succeeded (socket = 3268)

core debug: looking for meta fetcher module matching "any": 1 candidates

core debug: Using stream method for AStream*

core debug: starting pre-buffering

qt4 debug: IM: Setting an input

core debug: no art finder modules matched

core debug: art not found for http://192.168.1.100:4000/udp/239.16.116.2:5555/

core error: read error: No error

core error: cannot pre fill buffer

core debug: removing module "http"

core warning: cannot create a stream_t from access

core debug: dead input

core debug: changing item without a request (current 0/1)

core debug: nothing to play"

I've never gotten the udpxy to work, but before .61 I just did quick tests so cannot say for sure if it has been broken for a long time or if I just tested it wrong.

Same here. I was never able to watch IPTV on PC (VLC).
Merlin, please give us an advice.
Thank you!

Can't help you, I have no experience with IPTV.

udpxy for iptv working on 380.60,61 and 62....i tested myself but i do not use it because i have pppoe disconnectivity when udpxy configured...

Can you share your settings please?
hmm, in my case is nothing special for setup....i have two cables from my ISP modem to asus router, one for internet on wan port asus router and one for iptv on lan 1 port....then i go to asus lan-iptv settings and set lan 1 port for IPTV STB port and set port for udpxy.....that is all and iptv working in my case....

Excuse me Merlin, I know these questions bore You :) ..but is it also expected a beta, or directly to the final version?

I have IPTV working fine
My settings are
WAN- special requirements-Enable VPN + DHCP Connection -No

LAN - IPTV -Enable multicast routing (IGMP Proxy)-enabled.
Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping)-enabled.
And that's it no other settings changed works a treat even with 4k

There will most likely be a beta. Those alpha builds are only snapshots for early adopters, and to ensure that nothing gets broken during development.

Hi Merlin,

sorry to say but i can't upgrade my ac87u from alpha1 to alpha2. :(
It gives me > Firmware upgrade unsuccessful. This may result from incorrect image or error transmission. Please check the version of firmware and try again.

What to do?
Wait for next update, or where did i go wrong?
I downloaded 3 times the alpha build, as trying with other browser but that didnt made any sence..

Thanks

Try with, Reboot, flash , reboot
If not work....unmount usb drive, reboot, flash

Code:
nvram set led_disable=1
nvram commit
service restart_leds

Minor bug report aplha2

RT-AC56U allows turning off the LEDs either via a script/cron/Stealth GUI but unable to turn the 5GHz LED back on. Reboot the RT-AC56U and the 5GHz LED is now lit - so I don't believe it is a router hardware issue.

NOTE: RT-AC68U (alpha2) does not exhibit this issue, the 5Ghz LED can be turned OFF/ON correctly.

A, that unmounting did the trick.. thanks!
Alpha2 installed. So far so good.

Now another problem, it says:
* Reminder: The System time zone is different from your locale setting.
i'm from the netherlands, +1 is normally the gmt.. i didnt change anything, gmt set as +1 amsterdam?
