Hi I'm looking for a decent ac broadcom router to use with dd-wrt. The Asus ac68u seems to be a good compromise price/specs. However I read that latest c1 hw rev has problems with 3rd party firmwares. If I buy one from Amazon (italy) will I receive this revision? What is the actual compatibility status? I see that asuswrt-merlin is compatible, what about dd-wrt and kong's builds? And tomato shibby/advanced tomato? Do I need to downgrade CFE to unlock the installation of custom firmwares? What is the procedure? I had searched online but informations are unclear, contraddictories or outdated. Thank you all for responses

It's impossible to predict which HW revision you will receive, it depends on the supplier's inventory.

Tomato does not support HW revision C1 at this time.
