Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.4 is now available

Just wondering if anyone has restored a backed up VPN server settings configuration file from the old firmware to the new firmware in this thread after a factory reset? Did it restore it without any issues? Just trying to gauge the amount of work I need to do after the reset once on the new firmware. Thanks.
Upgraded this morning to 306.102.4 from beta 3 and everything went smoothly. However I am not able to connect to my VPN server using the profile on my iPhone. When I get a chance will download a new Profile to the phone and other devices that connect to LAN through the VPN server.

Merlin reverted back. https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/commit/00a3f70623d72bc4b344cee2d1e5efff521bd6b8. I'm actually seeing better connectivity with my IoT devices on this released version than the newer one he had in the beta3. It could all be in my head as well though. :)
why do i still see the new driver

Because you have a GT-AX11000 Pro. The link referenced in the post you quoted appears to indicate a reverted update for the RT-BE96U and GT-BE98 Pro:
Revert "Update RT-BE96U and GT-BE98_PRO wireless dongle driver to 102_37812 builds"

Dirty upgrade on all units from Beta 3 with no problems.
Many thanks to @RMerlin and all those who contributed to the release.

Wifi7 devices are based off GPL 37346 from December. 37839 was released 3 days ago. I would guess the answer is, “It depends.”

For GT-BE98 PRO I think it was 37812

That bump was only for the wireless driver, which was reverted between beta3 and this final release. The rest of the source is from 37346 with some lighttpd fixes from 37526.
yeah, that's what I remembered form beta3, as the wireless driver only was compiled from 37812, it worked well in my environment,
I guess I didn't follow the beta threads accurately enough to see that there were problems with it, do we know exactly the reason for reverting it back to 37346?

See post 36
Thanks for the info. I definitely missed that. That wireless driver from 37812 worked really well for me. I will consider reverting my units to beta3 just for this reason alone or just go with stock until any new alfa or beta becomes available.

Performed "dirty" upgrade on AX88U-Pro from latest 3004 release. So far, not a single hiccup. Mesh working fine.

This is very strange. I'm not getting any valid control options in my device list.
See this post, this follow on one and this one too where it's discussed earlier today. In short if it's an SDN (or Guest Network Pro) client then you may not see the Block Internet Access, Time Scheduling and Mac and IP Address Binding options you would see if it was a main LAN (wired or WiFi) client. One can try to block Internet Access to such affected clients, and possibly configure time scheduling as well, through the Parental Controls > Time Scheduling section.

Yes and no. The option to block internet access will be there for main LAN clients.
The option will not be there for Guest Network Pro clients, particularly those that have the Guest Network Pro option Use same subnet as main network set to disabled. In the following screen captures 192.168.2.x is the main LAN, and 192.168.52.x is a Guest Network Pro SDN.

The issue of being unable to block Guest Network Pro client's internet access has been brought up before in other discussions. As mentioned in the Beta thread, it is possible to block a Guest Network Pro client's internet access by using the Parental Controls > Time Scheduling option. See the following post which has screen captures indicating Guest Network Pro client had their internet blocked.
After investigating the issue, I confirmed through observation that the behavior completely matches your description. However, I'm deeply curious why the mobile app is allowed to disable devices labeled as SDN (including guest network controls), though this might be beyond the scope of our current discussion...

The Parental Controls feature has proven highly effective. It has successfully restricted the device's network access through an alternative approach. Thank you to everyone for your assistance.

So far its been working well for my setup:
Main - ASUS RT-AX88 Pro - Merlin 3006.102.4
Mesh - ASUS RT-AX86U - Merlin 388.9_2
Mesh - ASUS RT-AX58U - Merlin 388.9_2
Thank You :)

Wifi drops for me and comes back online on GT-BE98Pro. Upgraded from Beta4 today.

Beta4 did not do this though, wo deregister what was different as I thought Beta4 and this be closer.

I performed a dirty upgrade from 388.8_4 to 3006.102.4 earlier today on my RT-AX86U Pro and except for the manual configuration of the guest network, no problems have been experienced. Thanks Merlin!

for the folks that just got the latest, was there any addon you removed before/after upgrade?
Yesterday I updated two ax88u pro, on one of them scribe didn't start and I can't reinstall it either, because it says it has the wrong Entware version (same as on the other, but it runs without errors). The device on which scribe doesn't work has another problem, the 2Gps download speed is still there on the router, but on the client plugged into the 2.5G port it's no longer there, only around 980M. For now I'll definitely reinstall the previous firmware. On the other device, wicens required re-configuration, after resetting. A dirty upgrade occurred on both routers. Connmon (and the webgui of the scripts on a subpage with it) is displayed incorrectly on the web interface, when I open it, the left menu bar and the header disappear.
