they cant configure anything to save their life ... i was just going to install merlin and ship them somthing to try and help them out to replace their ISP router ...
Simple, then just pick one of the supported (cheapest or otherwise) from Merlin website...

With AX16000E when saving settings it doesn't look like it saved, like user name I changed in PPPOE and it still shows the old user and password, changing DNS to DOT for example, I need to change it 4 times until it shows that it's enabled or disabled.
never had this issue, not sure if 3006.102.4 works fine but I didn't have this issue before with the RED theme.

And, apparently, a firmware reset is out of the question if anyone dares to suggest it.
Hands washed.

As there have been queries or concerns raised across various separate threads as well is in the currently 11 pages of this one, is there a list of .105 specific issues, perceived or real (and that have been fixed or reverted by downgrading to .104), that can be summarized opin one place (I’m happy to amend this list if folks point me to more than one instance of the same (apparent) issue on .105) e.g.
  • LAN Ports not communicating with each other when AP isolation is enabled in VLAN settings.
  • VPN Director is no longer respecting the rule to allow remote Wireguard VPN clients (with default IP of 10.6.0.0/24) to flow via WAN.
  • Next
Note on the first "LAN ports not communicating to local LAN" issue: I now also have it after upgrading to an official ASUS firmware...

I originally got it after upgrading my RT-BE92U from ASUS 3.0.0.6.102_37563 to MERLIN 3006_102.5_0
Going back to ASUS 3.0.0.6.102_37563 resolved it.

Yesterday I upgrade from ASUS 3.0.0.6.102_37563 to ASUS 3.0.0.6.102_38962, and now same issue there! Damn...

So... not related to 'something Merlin', but to some other more generic Asus thing?
I'm going to try a factory reset this weekend, and let's see what happens. Else I foresee another firmware downgrade in my future :)

. . . maybe it's me but it seems like it may be time to wrap this thread up. 🥴
