Ax5700 no internet in AP mode

I have an OPNsense box set up to handle all the routing, DHCP, etc. It is at 10.0.0.1. It then goes through a switch. after the switch is a an ASUS AX5700. The ASUS router is at 10.0.0.2. I put the router in AP mode but I cannot get the devices that connect to it wirelessly to go beyond the router. They cant get online. I can still access the router from the switch at it's static IP address though. The OPNsense box is set to assign addresses 10.0.0.10-254.

I'm sure this is embarrassingly simple, but what have I missed?

Edit: it seems IoT devices can use wifi but phones and computers cannot.
