AX88U High latency/ping in games

Hi,

For the past couple of weeks, I have been having issues with my AX88U. I've been getting high ping/latency in games, either constantly, or spiking from 10ms-20ms all the way to over 250+ms. I have a 1Gbit down/50mbps up connection which works perfectly fine when wired. I am by no means an expert on routers, but here's what I've tried so far:

  1. Reinstalled Merlin 386.5_2. The newest version introduced WiFi completely dropping, which isn't the case anymore thankfully.
  2. Did multiple full factory resets using the WPS button and reconfigured manually
  3. Multiple reboots also clearing JFFS partition
  4. Disabling WiFi 6
  5. Tried different channels
  6. Checked the connection on multiple devices (smartphones, tablets, laptop)
It has worked without a hitch during the past two years, so I am not sure what has changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

You said that wired connections are fine so the implication is that this is a WiFi-only problem. So assuming that you're using the same WiFi channels as before something has changed outside of your router. So that could be lots of things, most of which are outside of your control. e.g. co-channel interference from a neighbour's router, RF noise from electrical equipment, newly installed LED lighting, etc.

Is there any way to pin point what it may be? I'm pretty sure nothings changed in my own home.
