New Around Here
Ok, so I bought a DSL- AC68U on eBay to act as a node, only to discover it doesn’t support this out of the box. Current setup is RT- AC68U with a virgin router attached in modem mode, I’ve done a bit of research and figured out I have 3 basic options.

1. Swap routers, the RT becomes the node. Problem, the RT is configured within an inch of its life, can the backup settings for a RT be applied to the DSL?

2. Apply the Asus beta firmware to allow the DSL to be a node. Problem, not sure how stable this is/if it works at all.

3. Apply gnuton firmware to allow DSL to be a node. Problem, not sure if this will work with current setup.

Any help would be appreciated.

I’d go Asus beta firmware
Worst case it doesn’t work now but will in a few weeks with full release.
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, or any harm in trying.

Also no harm trying gnuton if it doesn’t.

Swap routers, why not? But you must not use config from the other, manually from scratch!
