How do I flash the ASUS NT-N66U with Asuswrt-Merlin firmware?

I apologize for this general question, but I have read many posts, visited all links related to the Asuswrt-RMerlin build (the latest being 3.0.0.4.270.25), but I can't find instructions on HOW to do this. There is a wealth of information on WHAT this firmware does, but not the steps needed to replace the stock firmware for the NT-66U router. I am hoping this might be useful for other people to perform this upgrade safely and properly.

Can anyone summarize the steps, OR point me to a page that does please?

From the WIKI, the instructions only say:

Just flash it the same way you would flash any regular Asus firmware​

I couldn't find instructions on the ASUS Knowledge Base/FAQs for flashing this router, but I found the information on page #40 of the User Guide! - Upgrading the Firmware. I have not purchased this router yet, but I downloaded and scanned the PDF manual just now to find these helpful tips:

To upgrade the firmware:

1. Click Advanced Setting from the navigation menu at the left side of your screen.
2. Under the Administration menu, click Firmware Upgrade.
3. In the New Firmware File field, click Browse to locate the new firmware on your computer.
4. Click Upload. The uploading process takes about three minutes.

As this is new to me, I was missing these basic steps... thanks again.
