Sorry if this is a simple question I ought to know the answer to.

I have an AX86U and an AC68U as an Aimesh node. I see the firmware for AX variants is now up to 388.1 but for AC variants it is staying at 386.7.2. I think I remember seeing that you should keep nodes on the same firmware version as the primary router.

Is it OK to update the firmware on my AX86U to 388.1 but leave the firmware on the AC68U as 386.7.2? Do I understand that the AC routers will not be getting 388.1?

TIA

May work better for you with the node on Asus factory firmware. Actually, the AC68U is limiting the abilities of the AX86U. You may want to consider getting an AX node or using the AC68U as an AP and not a node.
