MerlinAU MerlinAU v1.5.5 - The Ultimate Firmware Auto-Updater (WEBUI + GNUTON SUPPORT!)

MerlinAU 1.5.4 Released!

What's Changed/Fixed?:

PR: [ #515 ] - Fixes and Improvements for Modifying Cron Jobs
  • Fixed bug when checking and modifying the cron job to schedule the Automatic F/W Updates checks.
  • Improved code when checking and modifying the cron job to schedule the Automatic Script Update checks.
  • (Thanks @Martinski4GitHub )
As always, we highly recommend you update ASAP as this includes functional improvements and little bug fixes.
Thanks!

I have a feature request, if possible - would love to see an option to skip a single selected firmware version update.

I, like some others here, have issues with wifi network (some devices not willing to connect) on 3006.102.15 while everything is fine on .14.
I've downgraded to .14 just to find out the script updated to .15 the next night (even if I have 7 days delay set up).
It would be nice to be able to skip certain version (currently offered as the latest) until the next one is published.

Simply disable auto updates in the script. Or set a longer postpone period.

Thanks for using the script!

on the MerlinAU user asp page, the firmware check button never finds an update if "Enable Automatic F/W Update Checks" is turned off.

Manual update check by ssh finds the new firmware and offers to install it as usual.

Thank you for this report. I always appreciate when users identify points of friction in the code which can be improved.

Unfortunately I am still away for now, to be specific, I'm about to jump on a plane for my vacation in Cancun.

In the meantime, I'll recruit my good friend @Martinski to look into this one and validate this behavior, and pump out an update as needed.

If anything is required from me, I expect to be back at my desk doing AMTM-OSR and MerlinAU business by the 2nd week of November.

You better not be checking your email from Cancun! Hope you get LOTS of rest and relaxation! :)

Great catch!! Thank you for reporting the issue. This is now fixed in the latest development 1.5.5_25110200 version now available.

If you'd like to test and verify the fix, you can switch from the current production release to the latest development version using the following command:
Bash:
/jffs/scripts/MerlinAU.sh develop

Doing the best I can! One drink at the beach for each like that post got so far 😁

Nooooo emails being checked! but I do pickup my phone once in a while, I figured I'd stop by and mention how nice the sand feels between my toes. 😂

I'm shipping off a release as it seems@Martinski fixed it in development, but left a PR hanging without merging to production. He's too nice to merge it in without my review, even though he's got full rights to my repo 🤣😉
