Using an AX86U on Merlin 388.1 firmware

Woke up in the middle of the night to beeps from IoT devices unable to connect. Looking around, I discovered that the 2.4GHz radio was shut off.

I rebooted three or four times to no effect. I then played around on the wireless settings page, manually turning the radio off / on but no luck there either.

Finally, on a whim, I changed the radio channel to 1 from 6 and the radio started right up and has worked fine for the last 48 hours.

Anyone know what might have happened here [and how to avoid it in the future]?

The only way to know what happened would be to look at the router's System Log. Post the complete log here or on pastebin.com for us to look at. Although it's possible that with all the reboots the information has been lost.

There's nothing in the log.

But, perhaps, someone else has been through this before and can comment.......

This router has issues with 388.1 firmware. Use 386.5_2 or 386.7_2 instead. Or recently released Asuswrt 388_22525.
