please help me set up vpn on netgear 7000 with linux

Hi,
So far I have been using Netgear's own software for managing my small home network, without any VPN.
However, I have just changed my primary computer to dual-boot Windows 7 and Manjaro Linux, on separate HDs. My long term goal is to disconnect the windows drive from the network entirely.

I would like to put the entire network behind a VPN. Right now along with the main computer, I have 2 laptops running Windows 8.1 (that I also plan to move over to linux) and 2 android phones.

I think I probably need to flash a custom router OS?
Is this correct? Which would be the most suitable for my needs?

You can do it with DD-WRT or Tomato I would lean towards tomato but you can can check out both and then choose
