I just uploaded test builds for the RT-AC88U and RT-AC3100 which include the wireless components from GPL 382_18991 (it should in theory fix the KRACK issue, though Asus didn't mention it in their changelog for some reason).
Any word on the AC68U? (I even played the 'change the name of the current source code to the later versions' today to see if it was really there but not shown :) )

Hi Merlin,

first of all thank you for all your hard work. Unfortunately i had some issues with Johns Fork with my RT N66U. Not sure if your version will help me. Maybe you can tell:

My ISP is using Dual-Stack Lite tunnel (ds-lite IPv4 in IPv6) and i need to configure / Obtain a DS-Lite AFTR from DHCPv6 from my cable modem (Technicolor TC4400). Before i was using a router with modem from my ISP. I switched to a modem only device but i could not obtain an ipv4 address through DHCPv6 DS-Lite. It looks like your version uses odhcp6c which has an option to set an DS-Lite AFTR manually. Do you know if this works?

- Is it possible to configure this version with DS-LITE?
- Is it possible to obtain an ISP's DS-Lite AFTR from DHCPv6 automaticaly?
- Can i set an ISP's DS-Lite AFTR manually?

Dual-Stack Lite tunnel (ds-lite IPv4 in IPv6)
ds-lite is a transitioning-mechanism which is used by ISPs to support legacy IPv4-connectivity over a native IPv6 connection.
Also see https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/network6

Support for DHCPv6 extension
i) DS-Lite AFTR-Name Option

Thank you very much.

Is it possible to configure this version with DS-LITE?

No idea. If it's supported by the stock firmware, then it also will be with mine.

My ISP does not support IPv6, so I don't really focus on it, not being an expert.

I just noticed the official 382 firmware was released for the RT-AC66U B1... Can't wait until the RT-AC68U firmware gets released from you so I can flash it. Excited!!!

I own an N66U and have been using the John's Fork version for a while now, Im looking to upgrade possibly to an Asus ac86u.
This is quite a new router and I'm really unsure on where to start with firmware if I bought it.

Is the stock firmware stable and how is the firmware on here?

Also as I have not followed your firmware for a while now can I ask what kind of changes you make from the stock?

Thank's

p.s Im just a little unsure where to start if I get the ac86u.

382.1_2 is now available for the same three models. Changes since 382.1:

Code:
   - NEW: Added custom/add/postconf support for mcpd.conf (RT-AC86U)
   - CHANGED: Updated odhcp6c to latest upstream version
              (patch by theMIRon)
   - CHANGED: cifs and xt_set kernel modules will get automatically
              loaded as needed.
   - CHANGED: Updated openssl to 1.0.2m.
   - CHANGED: Updated libogg to 1.3.3 and libvorbis to 1.3.5.
   - CHANGED: Merged wireless components from GPL 382_18991 for
RT-AC88U and RT-AC3100 (should in theory fix KRACK
              issue on these two models)
   - FIXED: allow IA_NA mode downgrade with forced IA_PD
(for ISPs with broken IPv6 support)
            (patch by theMIRon)
   - FIXED: SSH brute force protection would break WAN
            connectivity (RT-AC86U)
   - FIXED: Wrong Trend Micro signature updater was used when
compiling with FW update checker enabled.
   - FIXED: QoS Upload chart missing on PPPoE connections with
            Adaptive QoS enabled.
   - FIXED: client and vendor id fields on WAN page would fail
to accept new values longer than 32 characters.
   - FIXED: The Desc field in the OpenVPN policy section would
reject ":" if field contained a MAC address.
   - FIXED: Security issues CVE-2017-15275, CVE-2017-12163 and
            CVE-2017-12150 (backported to Samba 3.6 and 3.5)
   - FIXED: DHCP static lease list would refuse any change if
the list of leases+hostnames was longer than 1000
chars due to an HND platform limitation (RT-AC86U)

The reason why I say the AC88U and AC3100 should "in theory" have KRACK fixed is that Asus doesn't mention it in their changelog, even tho I do see they updated the wireless components with 382_18991.

I have the same configuration [emoji4]
N-66U @my parents house and AC-68U @my house as main router. From the day 1 both routers are running Merlin's amazing firmware. Never had a single issue for several years now.
Go for AC-68U with Merlins !! [emoji6]

382.1_2 is now available for the same three models. Changes since 382.1:

I updated from 382.1 to 382.1_2 on my 88u. So far so good. Thanks for swapping the Traffic Analyzer tabs back to the way they were in 380.

Since I didn’t hard reboot after the 382.1 update and my router didn’t lock up after a week as it had done in the past, I’m assuming that glitch is fixed so I didn’t hard boot this time either.

I've been running the -2 version on my 88u this morning and everyting seems to be running well.

What is interesting is that the version ASUS posted was very unstable for me. Lots of client's refused to connect or dropped. What changes did you make to make things more stable?
