Currently having issues with printing to an Epson R3000 printer - print will start but partially through the print (20-95%) the Cupsd transfer rate will drop to 0, then the r3000 will stall and stop printing with the message - remote host did not accept Data file (32).

Printer is connected to iMac via said RT-AC68.

Printer works fine when printing direct from same iMac connected by computer/computer network bypassing the router and also prints via iPhone/iPad connected via the router...
All printer drivers and firmware have been updated along with the router firmware.

Any suggestions or advice would be more than welcomed and appreciated :)
Thanks
Matt

Try turning off ALL AiProtection for the ac68u. Make sure UPnP is enabled (the full AiProtection disables it). Maybe check with EPSON support to see if you need any ports forwarded for the R3000 to work properly with certain routers like the Asus (although it's on the same LAN sometimes wireless connections need special settings or port forwarding due to use of multiple different MAC addresses for Ethernet and wireless... also make sure "enable network access" in enabled under the Asus wireless settings). Some devices like network printers and print servers need special settings on your router... Your printer manufacturer should know if special settings are needed.

Check your iMac security settings to see if you have the printer blocked in the firewall settings. Some network services used by printers could be blocked with certain firewall and security settings. If you have any firewall settings enabled... default setting for the OS X firewall is off but if you have it enabled you can partially enable the firewall and allow for security with known approved programs. If you are using anti-virus make sure that is not blocking networking services for your printer. You probably aren't the only one who has the same issue with the R3000 but if you are it definitely has to do with something unique about your Mac or Router settings.

Some of the sleep and Energy saver settings in OS X 10.11 El Capitan have been reported to cause disconnection issues with some USB connected devices, some network printers and print servers. Make sure "wake for network access is ticked" under System Preferences > Energy saver settings. The only way to know if your device is effected is to test with different settings. If your Mac computer is set to auto sleep try setting the computer sleep slide bar function is set all the way to the right for "Never". Of course your Mac won't enter power save mode the same way as before if you do this so if this is not causing the problem then set it back to enable computer sleep function after a period of time. These are only ideas I recommend you try to find the source of the problem and not absolute solutions you need to do.
