I had something vaguely similar to this during a recent upgrade. Basically, for some strange reason, the password had unexpectedly been reset to the default.
error, in my case after trying to enable Telnet access on my RT-AC66U running 3.0.0.4.374.38_2.Settings have been updated. Web page will now refresh. Changes have been made to the IP address or port number. You will now be disconnected from RT-AC66U. To access the settings on RT-AC66U, reconnect to the wireless network and use the updated IP address and port number.
