New Around Here
Hi,
on my travel trips abroad I would like to provide to all people in the car a shared wifi access to the internet using a wifi router in the booth connected with a 3G dongle to the provider from the country I'm in.
I also want to connect an USB HD to router, to serve as a NAS/DNLA server, for videos to be store, to keep kids busy. The idea is that 5 people (2 adults, 3 kids) could be connected using only 1 USB dongle (for lighter applications: whatsapp, mail etc ..). Then I only need one SIM card/country.
i would keep the stuff in the booth and pull the USB dongle out via an USB cable to have better antenna visibility. Power can be using a separate 12V to 220V convertor, to get a stable voltage from the battery.
reecommendation would be to have to 2 USB ports, that saves another USB HUB (+adapter).
I'm not looking at any specific car solution, as they are ruggedized and very expensive. A home router will do, as long as it has the required functionality.
was looking at the Prolink WNR1012 or Cradlepoint MBR900 but I'm sure there are many other ones now being offered. I just like some comments/recommendations on this solution.
Thanks.
