Would anyone know if if Asus Merlin AiMesh works with GT-AX11000 and RT-AX92U?
If so has anyone had any issues or drops with performance compared to stock firmware?
If you could point me to some documentation that would be awesome too.
Thanks!

AiMesh is closed source and comes unchanged from stock Asuswrt. No AiMesh enhancements in Asuswrt-Merlin firmware.

If stable AiMesh is the main goal and no extra Asuswrt-Merlin features are needed - run stock Asuswrt on all routers in close to default settings.

Welcome to the forums @Lime.

The GT-AX11000 is supported by RMerlin firmware. The RT-AX92U is supported by GNUton's builds (based on RMerlin's firmware).

AiMesh is a closed-source package, and either stock or the firmware listed above will be identical, re: AiMesh.

The benefit of using the non-stock firmware is the extra attention given to the code by each developer, which will only make AiMesh work better, or at worst, identical, to stock.

No drops or performance loss have been observed at all. Running stock is more of a gamble.

Test and see what works for you. AiMesh wireless node discovery was broken in Asuswrt-Merlin for a long time, but perhaps fixed by now:

In general you don't need Asuswrt-Merlin on the nodes and many folks around run Asuswrt. Some say it works better. Unfortunately, your AX92U routers have single AX radio and not the best hardware choice. If you use this radio for wireless backhaul you end up with AC-class for clients. It was originally sold in pairs as AC-class "mesh" system with AX backhaul. This model also had long history of firmware issues and long gaps between firmware releases.

Good luck.
