Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 Beta is now available

Interesting. On my GT-BE98 Pro, I’m using a 7 letter password. No numbers. No special. Only accessible via LAN. I’ve never used any special characters or numbers albeit Merlin 3006.102.4.
The issue only happens when you try to enter a new password under 102.5. Existing passwords remain valid.

There definitely appears to be an issue with the Clients count on the web UI home page. I'm showing 140+ (and counting), while only showing 74 (seems accurate) via Android app.

"Good" to see I'm not alone (so not isolated to something wrong in my network).
Got some reactions to my post so I guess more people see this.

For anyone having issues with password length and complexity, I would strongly recommend Bitwarden, a password manager; they have a free version, it’s open source, and it’s incredibly simple to use. I use it with a combo of a DuckDNS email that forwards to my real email. This way if a site is breached that email used is only for that site. It won’t be tracked to other sites when those get breached.

It can autofill and they have an app so it can autofill in apps. I can’t recommend it enough.

I also recommend Bitwarden (or Vaultwarden if you're adventurous). Did you intend to write duckduckgo email privacy service?

KeePass.
Not Internet dependent. Has AutoFill function. Has very good password generator. Portable versions for "Thumb Drives". Also, can be distributed via "Cloud" storage. Android versions available.
Free!

The other reports of similar issues in the 102.5 alpha were all different issues introduced by the new GPL merge, and they were all fixed before the beta release.

I am unable to reproduce your specific issue. What's the browser console error message, and what's on the line where the error occurs?
Thank you for taking care of this.
There is no evident error on loading the page but clicking "Apply" button the console report this error:

and this is the detail:

Thanks, that's all I needed. It's a bug related to an AiMesh/repeater issue that I've seen a few months ago happen with only one of my routers (which wasn't even in an AiMesh network). There's an nvram set to a value that gets set to a mode (*dwbMode") but the web server does not provide the associated variable, causing the Javascript error. I had resolved the issue by fixing the invalid nvram value on my router, it seems that value can also be set when in an AiMesh network. I can't fix it because it's related to AiMesh, but I might be able to at least implement a workaround to prevent the webpage from failing to load.

Thank you @RMerlin for the quick diagnosys and solution. Looking forward for next release to test
Thank you again

This version contains the same issue as with the latest ASUS release. Older WPA2 devices do not work on WPA2/WPA3 combo. I had to downgrade encryption to WPA/WPA2 on my "Guest" network. I don't use it for guests just for older devices but it's not isolated from my main network. Specifically affects my old Cannon printer and 6 year old Wi-Fi connected Culligan water filter. It's an ASUS problem but wanted to make sure y'all are aware here.

Having more issues with this version's captive/guest portal. Anyone else?

In the previous version (3006.102.4.0 and the beta releases) it worked for apple devices but not android or Windows without copying a favicon file.

This version's captive portal doesn't work on any platform for me now after upgrading, even with the favicon file copied.
Will try to investigate a bit more this evening and report back if I find any leads/workarounds.

Looking for more feedback on the new Connections log page.

Also @dave14305 can you confirm that the IPv6 changes to DNSDirector resolved your issue (without having to completely reapply all firewall rules)?

Looking for more feedback on the new Connections log page.
I have doubts on why there needs to be 2 separate tables. I understand they are sourced differently, but I don’t usually consider my connections by whether they are v4 or v6.

I acknowledge that filtering by device IP would not be possible if IPv4 and IPv6 were intermingled, but names might still work. I guess I would rather see it work like the Classification page.

Playing around with stuff... Never really messed around with DNS Director. "Global Redirection" is supposed to affect everyone on that network, right? So no need for client based redirects?
I see both OpenVPN and WireGuard clients use the global redirection setting. I see my Guest Network Pro profile also using the redirection I set. But none of the clients on the main network, wired or WiFi, use the global redirection.
This stock firmware or Merlin bug?

I see it on "smart-devices" but not on main WiFi. Should this not be seen on https://dnscheck.tools/ ?
With a BE router, it’s probably related to the problem discussed in this thread today:
I must be having short-term memory issues. 🤨

How did you reach that conclusion? The client won’t know it’s being redirected.
Added some clients, despite already using global... Poof... Cutting my DNS response time by 10, and seeing Cloudflare.

Great! I'll look into that thread.
