Hello,

I'm quoting a job that requires approx 5-7 AP's. Can anyone provide pros/cons and any user feedback on the following APs?

- Luxul XAP-1500
- Ruckus AP 7372
- Aruba AP-225
- Cisco Aironet 3700
- Ubiquiti UniFi AP Pro

Background: I'm not an IT specialist, but I will be vetting out the various contractors who will be installing the product. Performance & stability is the main goal in the build; price is second. Will be installed in two large residential buildings (with cat6 throughout) constructed of concrete & re-bar.

Your input is appreciated!

Thank you.

Hire a pro. It may be that Grade Of service and anti-bandwidth hogging and quantities of subscribers says you should have an engineered controller based solution. If, so, that's Aruba or Cisco. APs alone are just part of the problem.

Thanks for the reply SteveCH.

I am hiring a pro. The background for posting the question is to get some feedback from the forum members so that the collective wisdom will help me better converse with the contractor.

Lot of it depends on whether you're a Cisco shop or not... if yes, then it's a fairly simple decision - if costly, but integration with their management platforms is first rate.

I tend to like the Ruckus AP's in non-Cisco environments, but Aruba is a solid performer as well...
