How to setup VPN Fusion on Asus RT-AC2600

Have a Asus RT-AC2600. Heard this is Mediatek and not supported by Merlin.

Any way to configure it to have VPN Fusion? i.e. want some fo the client devices to go through the router VPN, and others to not go through it.
Is there a way, other than getting a new router?

Can i get a RT-AX56U and then use Merlin, to execute a similar function as VPN Fusion?

If you see 388 firmware available for the router you are looking at - it's included in stock Asuswrt. Asuswrt-Merlin can do more advanced VPN selective routing on all supported router models. VPN Fusion is more simple for average users. Perhaps AX56U will get 388 firmware too at some point.
