I have DSL-AC68U and RT-AC68U set up, they are connected via a ethernet cable and I have AiMESH enabled.

The routers work fine in this configuration for a period of time, like a month or two, but then I find the GUI fails and I am unable to access any of the configuration on the DSL-AC68U. The only option is to turn off both routers and restart them. Then they will will work fine for some time, before the same process occurs.

Anyone have any ideas what to do about this or troubleshoot the issue?

The DSL-AC68U is the primary router that takes the DSL line directly from the telephone socket.

Both are running standard ASUS firmware:
DSL-AC68U - Version 3.0.0.4.384_56087
RT-AC68U - Version 3.0.0.4.384.45717

Thanks

you could try GNUton's DSL-fork and activate Aimesh with SSH commands.
Or just wait for Asus to fix it (maybe now or never).
Everynight reboot DSL with sheduler may be helpful too.

So it's a common/persistent issue then? Is there a known reason?

If setting a scheduled reboot is a temporary workaround, does this have to be set on both AiMesh routers, if yes I assume one needs to reboot before the other?

Nothing known, only a workaround, you cant set anything on a Aimesh node.
