Great script.
Just to be sure: if I install this script, do I need to run it always or it will show me real time stats in UI, once it is installed?

Is uiDivstats 1.3 no longer compatible with the RT-AX88U using merlin 384.14_0?

@Skeptical.me, did you use 'u', then 'uf', then reboot the router?

Yeah, I did. Where are the stats located in the UI. I haven't used this for a while and I thought they were in the Traffic Analyses section.

Jack... easy question? Currently...
Code:
The top 15 requested domains were:
 --------------------------------------------------------
 306316 dns.msftncsi.com
 134261 d29r7idq0wxsiz.cloudfront.net
 108585 ssl.gstatic.com
 106066 play.google.com
 82678 d3p8zr0ffa9t17.cloudfront.net
 79700 google.com
 67880 www.google.com
 65133 mail.google.com
 58931 clients4.google.com
 54659 chat-pa.clients6.google.com
 51702 www.netflix.com
 51354 safebrowsing.googleapis.com
 48106 device-metrics-us.amazon.com
 39591 www.googleapis.com
 38045 play.googleapis.com

The top 15 blocked ad domains were:
 --------------------------------------------------------
(this is blank in the text version, but the GRAPH shows a bunch of (**).google.com entries in the top 15. None of which are blocked in Diversion ( Blocking lists > 5. Find in Blocking List) ... so I don't know what the discrepancy is?

Also. If dns.msftncsi.com is the #1 requested domain, then why does it not show up anywhere in any of the individual client lists?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!!

AFAIK connections to dns.msftncsi.com are initiated by the router itself. The domain dns.msftncsi.com is used as part of its Network Connectivity Status Indicator tests.

I'm currently running 384.14_2 on an AC3100 router which should be powerful enough to run the uiDivStats; however, whenever this runs I loose my DNS and internet subsequently seems to die. The CPU doesn't seem to spike too high, but right as my resolver died, I checked the logs and saw:
Jan 29 18:00:00 uiDivStats: Starting Diversion statistic generation...
Jan 29 18:02:11 uiDivStats: Diversion statistic generation completed successfully!
Jan 29 19:00:00 uiDivStats: Starting Diversion statistic generation...
Jan 29 19:02:10 uiDivStats: Diversion statistic generation completed successfully!

Shortly after, it came back, although it took a little to stabilize. This knocks me off my work VPN as well which is a little annoying as well. I have removed it for now, but has anyone else noticed this behavior?

No, I'm sure I'd have been told if my home connection dropped every hour! Does dnsmasq restart?

@nitro001 is amtm and all scripts in-use fully updated? Afterward, did you reboot the computer (it was required not too long ago)?

Does a simple reboot now fix this issue?

Try this while you are in amtm.
  • uu to update amtm to latest version.
  • u to check for script updates.
  • Update all scripts indicated by the 'u' check above.
  • Repeat until all are updated.
  • Now, 'Safely Remove' your USB drive(s) via the GUI.
  • Reboot the computer.
  • in amtm, check for any script updates.

like guys before I encountered faults while trying to generate stats, so far I tried everything including reinstalling amtm and deleting all scripts except diversion and uidivstats (and reinstall them).
I could format jffs and again install it all form scratch but is this a solution?

@kfahoo what faults did you encounter? You need to provide more information about your setup, including the router model, firmware version and all scripts you have running.

Reinstalling amtm won't fix issues with Diversion. :)

Try doing a backup of Diversion and then uninstalling and reinstalling it (it should then ask you to restore the backup you just made).

Is Entware fully up-to-date?

There were many changes yesterday from Entware being updated on its own. ;)

Is your router providing dhcp or another device? What do you have set in tools other settings, using caching resolver for router?

this router

Wan: Use local caching DNS server as system resolver => yes

I have 2 routers with same settings in different locations
they differ only in:
static ip vs pppoe in wan settings
one with pppoe give no faults
