I know this has been asked before, but I'm seeing conflicting information. Just picked up a RT-AC1750.. Asus product page is at https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RT-AC1750/ -- I guess when that model was first released, there was dispute as to whether it was an actual model or not.

Which firmware version should be used with it? The Wiki says to use the firmware for the RT-AC68 at https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Supported-Devices However, I am seeing other threads where RMerlin indicated using the version for the RT-AC66

It is currently running the latest auto-update version of the Asus software -- I believe dated February 2017.

Thanks,
Rick

The version its running now is
3.0.0.4.380_4180

And I just tried flashing RT-AC68U_380.65_0 from the upgrade firmware section of the Asus firmware and it complained that it wasn't a valid firmware image for that router.

Since you are on stock firmware, and it's one of the latest, you probably need to use Firmware Restoration Tool to flash.
