My ISP is Telia, and I'm using these settings in IPv6:
I have a /56 prefix, so I would want to give one subnet of it to Docker containers running on a virtual machine and seperate subnet for the rest of my LAN.
How would I get this done on the router? I would rather use the router for this...
Hi,
I've been running iPv6 without problems on my R7800 without problems. I would now like to switch to my prefered DNS provider (Quad9) but I can't figure out how to enter the addresses on the R7800. The addresses are:
2620:fe::fe and 2620:fe::9
On the R7800 there are the 8 alphanumeric...
Hi,
I am not sure whether this post belongs in a Voxel firmware thread or here as a general R7800 question since I use Voxel firmware on my R7800. Anyway If I use manual set ipV6 DNS servers like Cloudflare after a while it takes up to 30 seconds to resolve and get to any web site or service...
Hello,
Today I have contacted by my ISP to propose a new broadband connection.
I currently have a public IPv4 line connected to my ISP modem which connects to my ASUS RT-AC87U with AsusWRT-Merlin 384.7.
Behind the router I have a couple of QNAP NASes and one Vu+ decoder that I can access...
Recently, I started using the newly added Quad9 dnsfilter along with the dnssec setting. Works nicely, thanks. I changed the dns setting in my Hurricane Electric tunnel to the DNS ipv6 servers, and it no longer works. Tried setting the dns settings on the tunnel page back to HE dns, but it still...
I see this in my log, and it happens very frequently.
Do I even need IPv6 enabled?
I saw in another thread from john9527's fork to select Yes for the setting: Prefix delegation requires address request.
I did that but still get the log output.
I have Xfinity in the East Bay California, USA...
I enable stateful vs stateless in order to have routable IPV6 addresses.
After doing that, and a quick restart of the router, I checked that the target devices had drawn a routable IPV6 address and then made the proper IPV6 firewall entries.
Shortly after, I noticed the log entries shown below...
Hi guys,
Sorry for asking question as I searching for solution without joy for two hours.
I live in Japan and my ISP started to support so-caled "v6 Plus" in Japan or "NGN IPoE" connection that allows IPv4 traffic in iPv6 for faster speed -- sorry for not being fully technically correct here...
My IPv6 connection type is Native, DHCP-PD is enabled and my server has a public IPv6 address. I need to open port 80 for my webserver but I don't know how to define the destination address on my LAN side.
The guide https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1013638/ doesn't show how to bind the local...
I've come to notice that for some reason the nt66u ipv6 setting broadcast the LAN IPV6 ip as the if it were the ipv6 DNS IP. This has been causing some issues in my network.
I've the ivp6 setting so that the browser share my user-set DNS IP but these are being ignored.
I know this is...
Ive installed ASUS-WRT Merlin version 384 and am now experiencing the following error constantly in my routers system log:
eb 21 07:14:39 dnsmasq[5847]: bad IPv6 address at line 28 of /etc/dnsmasq.conf
Feb 21 07:14:39 dnsmasq[5847]: FAILED to start up

So this router had been performing beautifully since I bought it in December. We are a small business running on a Comcast 500/35. We don't have any crazy bandwidth demands though quite a few devices.
My dev needed IPv6 (Native with other settings as defaults) turned on so I did that two...
Running Merlin 380.68_4 on an RT-Ac5300. Enabling IPv6 works fine for a while. Then after several hours the IPv6 interface on the RT-AC5300 stops working. No response to IPv6 ping and of course no DNS. Have to reboot the router to re-gain IPv6 connectivity.
Also, I've set the manual IPv6...
I recently decided to try outIPv6 on my home network, so I bought an ASUS RT-AC88U and deployed it as the router for my home network.
First thing was that the firmware had to be updated to the latest version (3.0.0.4.382_15850). Once that was done connecting to Comcast was straightforward...
I just was wondering if there was a way to customize the DHCPv6 client side and if so where to see the config files to see what the router is doing on its own.?
I am teaching myself ipv6, and have a working ipv6 network, but was curious how configurable the router is when gets it's ipv6 prefix...
I would like to suggest that during reviews of network equipment such as routers, etc that ipv6 capabilities are evaluated.
Criteria examples:
Is the router setup accessible from ipv6 clients?
Is it workable in an ipv6 only environment?
Does the "wizard" suggest ipv6 settings during setup...
Okay so I have been noticing that every now and then when I'm on my ASUS ROG laptop the network settings will have IPV4 connectivity but my IPV6 will say not available. If i put my computer to sleep and then turn it back on it will say I have IPV6 internet again but after awhile it will go away...
I just noticed that I am not able to access any IPv6 only sites since the latest update to RT-AC56R. I haven't changed anything and I have tried to re-setup IP6in4 from HE (tunnelbroker) again but it doesn't work at all. Devices are getting IPv6 addresses but cannot ping or tracert any IPv6...
Hello SNB, long time lurker here but am needing some help understanding my router.
Currently using Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67 on my RT-AC88U, but I keep getting a spammed message in my logs.
I'm fairly tech-savvy, but don't consider myself a guru in the networking world.
This message appears to be...
