Hi forum I was given an ASUS EA-AC87 as I wanted to extend my Internet connection. I have put in in AP mode but I cannot see the SSID on any wireless network device. I have rebooted and changed the control channel to 44 on 5G. I am using the latest firmware :3.0.0.4.374_2814 - I think it may be a case of the ASUS not being supported / compatible with MAC as the device is pretty old? When I connect my PS5 to the ethernet port it sees the network and can pass traffic / connect to the internet. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Welcome to the forums @dob321.

Have you tried to fully reset it? Either via the GUI, or the Reset button? Particularly stubborn units may need to be reset and flashed the latest firmware a few times before the reset 'takes'.

What router are you trying to connect to? What SSID (i.e. any special characters, smiley faces, etc.)?

Can you try setting up a guest (or, temporarily, a new main SSID) to test with?

Try a newer firmware - manual download and choose file from the Firmware upgrade admin page. My EA-AC87 is in media bridge mode and was only seeing the lower channels but post upgrade is now connected on channel 100 to my DSL-AC68U. I've had it running for the last 2 weeks while working at home and its been stable and lower latency than the TPlink powerline I had been using.

Maybe its also related to this: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/quiet-release-of-ea-ac87.24865/post-402151 'I'm hopinh it might fix my problem, I have an EA-AC87 but in bridge mode it can't see my WiFI when I use the lower 5GHz channels'
