Current Version : 9.0.0.4.386_39339 Traffic Monitor figures for Last 24 hours and Daily are wildly incorrect. I have only been running 24 hours and it is report 17TB of download on WAN. I only have a 60mbps WAN on RT-AC68U.

I don't seem to have that issue on 9.0.0.4.386_39348.

@ASUSWRT_2020, Again on the guest accounts, I have noticed that if you select remove account, the account is removed, but when clicking on "enable" again, the same account that was removed is returning. So it would seem the remove button, is actually not removing the account, it's in fact, picking up the account that was removed again. The removal process and enabling process was done without a reboot of the main router in between each step.

I have this same behavior on Merlin 384.18 so I think it is not something new.

I have this same behavior on Merlin 384.18 so I think it is not something new.

And there is nothing wrong with that. People who want to only occasionally enable the Guest network when they need it don't want to have to reconfigure it every single time. This more like an Enable/Disable option, not a Create/Remove option.

I blew out both routers and installed ASUSWRT 386 RC3 on both routers. Up and running on my AiMesh system. Feels weird not running Merlin. :)

Disconnected a 5ghz device "due to inactivity" yet device was streaming audio, all other devices remained connected after 2 days uptime on RC2-3.

The new RC 2-3 build still drops to 2.4ghz after a while. But haven't tried to do a factory reset. Just installed it top on 25524.

Mine did the same thing, but once I disabled SC and AiProtection I have had no further issues with it dropping back to 2.4g band. In fact, mine run a lot smoother with all the TM stuff turned off.

Having problems losing the connection ... Am *not* using SC (Smart Connect. .. Cant actually because only one device supports it) ... rebooting the main and two nodes seems to fix the devices saying theres no internet.....(even though its connected to the router)
Think i will try disabling AiProtection....

All depends how AIProtection works. If it is doing deep packet inspection as I suspect that will take a fair amount of CPU cycles which will slow everything down. It shouldn't affect wifi stability though.

Anyone running RC2-3 ok on an AC66U B1 wireless node? The 66U B1 is only $80.

(ASUS needs less routers and more indoor/outdoor/mountable/PoE AiMesh nodes.)

OE

Can I ask and sorry if its been asked before but now you are adding 802.11k/v why aren’t you adding 802.11r for fast roaming?
Does this require extra hardware or something? From what I have read 802.11r will prevent the momentary drop in wifi that can occur as you move between nodes, which would be a good thing would it not?

Good afternoon everyone ! first i apologize, because i'm from brazil and i don't pronounce english very well. and i come to thank the people responsible for the forum for providing support to all of us. I come to report that I have an RT-AC88U and I have updated to the latest firmware, and so far it runs very well with no apparent problems, during the course of use I will update my experience. A great afternoon to everyone .

I went back to Merlin 384.18 I really liked the RC3 and it seemed to work really well but I missed my Merlin capabilities. I did learn that guest networks on RC3 assigns a different IP block instead of using the IP range set on the lan side of the router. My guest IP range was a 192,168.102.0/24 when I enabled the guest wifi. My router lan was set to 182.168.2.0/24. Merlin 384.18 uses the same block as the router.

why do you want same IP range? I think it's better with different IP range to serve more devices

I did not mean I wanted the same IP range, I was simply making a comment on some of the differences between the firmwares. I actually like the idea of a separate IP block.

Are there guest wifi on the nodes? Or only in the main router?

for the moment guest is broken, but in this update there's an option where you can choose to replicate it to the nodes.

small issue i found with the latest update. when switching a device from guest wifi to main wifi the link speeds show a 130 Mbps on the GUI.

on the device itself i can see the correct link speed.

Edit: seems like it only happens on the node

Be noted(Please read this before you use):

1. Although these are release candidates, but still under testing, there might be some bugs will cause system unstable, if you are facing issues, please leave your comments in this thread.
2. By using 9.0.0.x beta, it will not get live update from official path, you need to flash to official 3.0.0.x release to get latest updates.
3. To use full function AiMesh 2.0, all AiMesh nodes should be update to the 386-rc2 beta. If some of them are not, the functions will not work properly or limited.
4. For updating firmware manually please refer to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1035199/

What's new in 386-RC2

1. Supports 802.11k/v (ZenWiFi already adopted before, this is for RT GT models.)
2. AiMesh 2.0
- System optimization: one click in AiMesh topology to let topology re-org.
- System Ethernet backhaul mode, which is EAP mode, all nodes will use Ethernet as connection only, all bands will be released for coverage.
- System factory default and reboot.
- Client device reconnect, make device to offline and online again.
- Client device binding to specific AP.
- Guest WiFi on all Mesh nodes (only works on 2GHz -1 and 5GHz -1 guest network). (we know you are all waiting for this)
- Access nodes USB application. (Each node will have their own USB application server, it's not synchronized with Primary)
3. WiFi time scheduler now the unit goes to 1 minute.

Bug fixes:
1. VPN fusion bug fixes.
2. Offline client clean bug fixes.

The list of Supported Asus Router Models for AIMESH 2.0 386 rc2-3 is even shorter then the last list. Is there a roadmap list of Routers that will be officially supported by AiMesh 2.0 when it is released? I have two 66U B1s, and one 68U, I am pretty sure my Blue Cave is not going to be supported (its the only router my wife allows in the living room) and I know for sure my primary router, my 3200 will not be supported. Most of my routers are refurbs or used, but i would like to buy a new primary router. I just want to be able to make a 3 year investment with some confidence. Thanks Dancinjammin

BTW the r2 beta has been working great. I do have the Blue Cave as a hardwired node with standard firmware and it is working well so far. I will see what R3 brings me.

Thanks again
