Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 is now available

Did you try unplugging the router for 15 seconds then plugging it back in? That resolved problems I was having with the router after an update in the past.
For the first time in a long time I had to do this too. I used MerlinAU FWIW, but to be fair to @ExtremeFiretop I don’t think it makes any difference what you use.

Normally it just comes back by itself but this time showed “internet disconnected,” even after I waited a while and even after a soft reboot.

It’s fine for my local router update but means for my remote router I’ll probably need someone to physically switch it on and off. I know it’s not recommended to do this update remotely, but I wonder what causes the difference between FW updates and if a more reliable “back on line” sequence I can control exists, or whether the post FW update restart could be configured (as part of the update) e.g. to enable the various services with small ‘waits’ between them (if that is what might help, just extrapolating wildly here), to result in the same state as pre-update.

I unfortunately have issues - had none at all with the 3 betas but after installing the release version this morning I can no longer get into the router at all and all LAN devices are not connected. All LEDS on the RT-BE92U look normal - doesn't appear to have provided IP4 addresses from DHCP???

Are there any options other than a factory reset and start all over again? If I need to do this what is the best way? Thanks for any help....
try to reset your modem. i had this problem before and resolved upon resetting the modem.

Upgraded from b3 and my swap file disappeared.
Had to recreate it under amtm, did another reboot and everything seems fine.

Hello.
I have an RT-AX88U_Pro router and two RT-AX88U_Pro mesh routers.
What's the best update sequence? Currently, 3004.388.8 is running, first to 3006_102.4, and then to 3006_102.5 with a Dirty flash or a Clean install and a hard reset
or straight to 3006_102.5 Dirty flash or a Clean install and a hard reset
If I read the readme it is best to update in 2 steps. Does anyone have experience with this?

this is in the README

NOTE: resetting to factory default after flashing is
strongly recommended for the following cases:

- Updating from a firmware version that is more than a few releases older
- Switching from another third party firmware
- Switching from Asus' original firmware, and you were using VPN features

If you run into any issue after an upgrade and you haven't done so,
try doing a factory default reset as well.

Always read the changelog, as mandatory resets will be mentionned
there when they are necessary.

In all of these cases, do NOT load a saved copy of your settings!
This would be the same thing as NOT resetting at all, as you will
simply re-enter any invalid setting you wanted to get rid of. Make
sure to create a new backup of your settings after reconfiguring.

Updated successfully; everything went as smooth as possible overnight.
As always much appreciated @RMerlin

Checking the syslogs this morning shows absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. As clean as a can be.

Flash Merlin, hard reset, setup.
That's it.

On 3006.102.4 There was the option under WAN - 'Special requirements from ISP' to set a custom MTU value. In 3006.102.5 I can see that field at the bottom of the page when the page loads, but when it is finished loading, the custom MTU field disappears.

And yes , I did a fresh install

@prosperot
Did you try to clean browsercache?

I have had some problems in the past with the mesh router acting strange after a firmware update to the main router. So now after every firmware update, I reboot the mesh router after main router completes the update.

I upgraded from 3006.102.4 to 3006.102.5 and performed a hard reset, but I've encountered an issue. Neither my primary network nor my custom network (with IPv6 enabled) is successfully assigning publicly routable IPv6 addresses to any wireless devices. This problem wasn't present in version 3006.102.4

Which router? IPv6 working fine here.

System Log Errors (Permission Denied)
The system logs show repeated "Permission denied" errors from dnsmasq, preventing it from binding to IPv6 link-local addresses. Example logs (anonymized):

Aug 4 23:20:09 dnsmasq[XXXX]: failed to create listening socket for fe80::XXXX:XXXX:XXXX:XXXX%brXX: Permission denied

Aug 4 23:20:10 dnsmasq[XXXX]: failed to create listening socket for fe80::XXXX:XXXX:XXXX:XXXX%brXX: Permission denied

(Repeated multiple times with similar patterns.)

Tried same Advice as above in post #23?
