I can't get 2.4ghz working at all now. Even resets.
Can someone please give a hard reset procedure?

Currently on stock FW I fixed by turning off smart connect. Over 25 - 2.4ghz devices instantly connected.
I have never touched that and it was always on.
Going back to Merlin.

I am uploading two refreshed test builds for the RT-AC87U and RT-AC3200:

https://asuswrt.lostrealm.ca/test-builds

Please confirm that nothing got broken in these two. AC87U received one Quantenna-specific change from GPL 51640 (related to LAN ports), and the AC3200 got updated wireless and switch drivers (also from 51640).

Well I tried...but it went "pear shaped":) "Had"...a RT-AC87U running as access point on 384.12 Beta2-g7e33ba641a, performed a dirty upgrade to this Beta2-gc65e1cfdc7 and no 5GHz afterwards. Also could not logon to the GIU. Did a NVRAM reset via the WPS button and still no access to GUI. Tried Firefox and Edge browers.
Then tried recovery mode, tried these two Beta's, Beta1 and ASUS's last code release (382_51640) and all fail with "Failed to upload the firmware file. transfer cancelled". Tried rebooting the laptop, different LAN cable, different LAN ports on RT-87U.
What is in common between the four different firmware loads, fails basically at the same Byte load mark...e.g. 33523200 / 33553408 / 33552896. Ideas to get a successful recovery?!!

Back on Merlin b2 all good. Smart connect off. Jeez
Deleting my router bookmarks :D

87U with the b2 test build:

On my network maps|View clients I show 5 devices connected via 5ghz (and they work). Some pop on and off as you watch; they report connections from 65 mps to 867 mps. I also have 5 clients connected via 2.4ghz, and 19 others wired.

On Tools, at the bottom, I show 5 devices associated/authorized/authenticated with 2.4ghz, and 5ghz "off". Not sure if it has always been that way.

Have been for some time now, I noticed it too, but ignored it since everywhere it matters it shows correctly.
