New Around Here
Hi, i have the new Merlin Firmware on my AC68U with 1Gbit/s support.
Since i changed to Merlin (older Firmwares too), i have only (real) 100Mbit/s.
If that´s a known bug, please tell me how to fix it. If not, pls fix the bug :D

Thanks for your Help!

It's not a bug. Try replacing your cables.

You don't say what firmware versions you have tried ("new" doesn't mean anything).
You don't say how you are determining the 100Mbit/s speed.
You don't say whether it's WAN or LAN.
You don't say what equipment you are connecting to.
You don't say what you have done to try and isolate the problem.
Have you reset the router to factory defaults and tried again?

The Cable is new, but i´ll try another one.

Every new stable Firmware since one year or so.

NetSpeedMonitor and Transferrate in Windows 10

LAN only 100Mbit/s is the Title...

Windows 10 PC with Intel 1Gbit/s Network onboard

Nothing, because i thought it´s a bug :D

Yes i did.

OK Thanks for that.

So it's LAN to LAN connections only, not WAN to LAN.
Is the physical link speed of the PC network card 1000Mbps or 100Mbps?
What are you connecting to at the other end, another PC? What is its physical link speed.
Does this only effect this PC, what about other devices?

Under Tools > System Information > Network, what is the "Link State" of connections?

My WAN is only 100Mbit/s, because the Wifi-adapter don´t support Gbit.
My Gbit-LAN-PC is connected on LAN 1 with 100Mbit/s.
I use only this PC on LAN, all other devices are Wifi connected.
I use the Asus as NAS - that´s the reason why i would prefer 1Gbit.

I´ll try another cable - maybe the new cable is garbage...

So to be clear, your issue is that your PC's network adapter is connecting at 100Mbps instead of 1000Mbps?

That's usually caused by a bad cable, but I think I remember another post with a similar problem. IIRC that appeared to be caused by a Windows 10 update to the PC's network adapter driver. It might be worth rolling back to the previous driver, or seeing if there's a newer one.

Try plugging the cable into a different LAN port in case LAN1 is damaged.

I can´t belive it... my LAN1 is damaged
Well at least you found the cause before you started buying new hardware. Not too much of a problem I imagine if you only have one wired device.

The LAN1 port might not be damaged per se, the contacts might just be dirty or may have oxidized. Sometimes the "fingers" of the contacts get "tired" and don't spring up sufficiently anymore, a bit of gentle persuasion can help.
