Non functioning OpenVPN in TAP mode

Coupled with all the other issues I'm having I think it might be time for a hard reset on this thing but I wonder has a anybody else seen this behaviour? OpenVPN in TAP mode blocks internet access completely, even if "Redirect All" is set to no - just having the TAP adapter active breaks connectivity.

This is the only relevant error I can see in the log:
