Not getting full speed with Asus RT-AC86U

Hello all!
I was wondering if anyone knows what I should do to get my full download speed from my Asus RT-86U router. I've tried the recommendations on these 2 forums:

With no luck.

Router Firmware is 3.0.0.4.386_51529
QOS is disabled
I disabled and re-enabled Runner in SSH
FC is enabled.

Any ideas on what it might be?
I should be 500 down, but am only getting 200.

Go to the “Administration” -> “Privacy” tab in the GUI, and click all the Withdraw button(s) visible, then reboot. Any improvement?

How are you testing? Via Ethernet cable, WiFi?

Over wifi, however I am able to get full speeds when over an ethernet cable.

All 3 clients have only 1 stream, with 433 Mb max rate. Cut that number in half due to the realities of WiFi, and you get around 200 Mbit.

WiFi isn’t my specialty, so others may correct me or offer further insights.

Windows, iPhone, and ?
TX rates look like 2.4
In the gui, network map tab left side, click view list, sort by interface.
Where are the clients connected
Change your WiFi 5 channel from 44 to 157 and see if your 433.3 changes to 866
May want to reboot the router after making that change just to be sure.

This is unlikely to be the problem. See one of the devices is literally next to the router at -30dBm.

Discovered by accident when playing with Asus App, but the power slide in Professional to Power Save does the same thing.

If you can't get the TX rate above 433 you're going to be limited to about 200-250M of throughput. Either the radio in your router is dying or some setting got messed up somewhere. When was the last time you did a factory reset and reconfigure by hand?

I have not a done a factory reset ever. Is that the next step?

Definitely. Look up the "hard reset" method for your router. Copy down your settings (screen captures or copy/paste to a document as needed) and re-enter just what you need manually, not from a backup.

Update to the latest firmware before hard resetting too, might as well while you're at it.

The only things I'd tweak from default to start is disable universal beamforming on both wireless bands under advanced. You can customize IP, DHCP, etc settings if you need to but leave other wireless stuff at default, don't enable trend micro, etc. Start with a baseline and see how it looks, then add/enable other stuff as needed.
