I would like to set up my router (rt-n66u, Merlin FW build) to route one of my client's traffic through a proxy server on the WAN (internet). I would like all of my other internet traffic to just route normally through my ISP's network.

The rt-n66u has a standard VPN and OpenVPN client option, but not a web proxy client option.

Can I accomplish this with a simple static routing rule in the router?

Also wondering w/ stock asuswrt (FW 3.0.0.4.260)

I have the same question, though I haven't switched to the Merlin FW (yet). I can telnet in and issue iptables cmds, and I have found some how-tos for setting up a transparent proxy w/ iptables. I'm just curious if anyone has done this on the RT-N66U router. If I need to switch to Merlin FW to be able to automatically run the iptables cmds via a boot-up script, then I'll make the switch.

I would think you would be able to simply set up a static route for this. All traffic destined for 0.0.0.0 would be routed to your proxy server.
