Using OpenVPN Client and Tor together

Can I use OpenVPN Client and Tor together?

I configured OpenVPN Client ( /Advanced_OpenVPNClient_Content.asp ) to use VPN (provided from VPN as a service, like Mullvad, Private Internet Access, or whatever) and Tor ( /Advanced_TOR_Content.asp ).

Then, I can browse .onion site so at least Tor seems working, but I don't know OpenVPN Client's status.

My question is, when I configured OpenVPN Client to use VPNserver1, and Tor, which is the correct routing?

1. PC -> ASUS Router( -> Tor -> ) -> Internet
2. PC -> ASUS Router( -> VPNserver1 -> Tor -> ) -> Internet

When 1 is correct, Is there any way to use VPNserver1 and Tor together only by configuring in asuswrt-merlin?
