I have a security camera that verbally announces when the camera attaches to a WiFi network. It's annoying when it decides to speak when not spoken to, but I found that if I toggle the 5GHz Enable Radio button in the GUI in the Professional tab that the camera does the announcement. This suggests to me that the 2.4G is also being toggled when the 5G is toggled. I suspect this is in the Asus portion of the code, but I bring it up here in case there is something that would explain this strange behavior. BTW, my procedure is to select No to Enable Radio for 5GHz, press Apply, wait 5 secs or so, then select Yes, then Apply. I then get the announcement. Also the camera only has a 2.4G radio, so it would not know about a change in 5G.

Correct. Making changes to the WiFi options causes the entire wireless subsystem to be restarted.
