Wireless AC slow to deploy

Just got back from local BestBuy to buy the wife a new laptop. Every Asus laptop model they sold didn't even support 5Ghz wireless N, and forget about wireless AC. A $900 laptop has a piece of junk Intel 2200 in it that only supports the 2.4Ghz band. Seems to me wireless AC is slow to deploy and manufacturers are even cutting back on dual wifi cards to trim manufacturing costs.

Remember that 11ac is still in draft form and won't be a released spec until the end of the year. The router guys have been pushing it because they always need something new to convince buyers to trade up. But without 11ac enabled devices, you are just wasting your money.
