Hi,

I have a RU-AC86U on 384.11_2.
Ive noticed recently that I cannot log into the router using Chrome.
I had the same issue running 384.6 (I upgraded today).
I can log in just fine using IE and Edge.

Im assuming Chrome has had some sort of update that is causing issues.
Has anyone else experience this? Are there any workarounds?
FYI I have the same problem using SW Iron (another Chromium-based browser).

Thanks.

Yes, some people have had problems eg

https://www.snbforums.com/threads/f...lts-releases-v39e3.18914/page-464#post-480326

But that’s not the only instance, so if that link doesn’t help, you might want to search a bit deeper.

What exactly happens when you try to log in with Chrome? Does it just hang; do you get an error message?

You might want to have a look at the link and get back with more info.

No error messages. The page simply refreshes and waits for me to input the username and password again.

Interesting. Im able to log in when in incognito mode.
Im thinking it must be an extension I have installed.

Yep, weird. It was the Private Internet Access Chrome Extension that caused the problem for me.
I had to uncheck 'disable http referrer' (whatever that was doing).
Im all set.

Excellent. Thanks for the feedback.

http_referrer allows a visited page to determine which page sent you there. Asuswrt uses that for security checks (for instance to validate you weren't accessing a config page through a malicious link posted online, for instance).

I also use Canary and PIA, and noticed it about 2 weeks ago. I thought it was a Canary build that was causing it...PIA needs to disable that feature if it isn't turned on.
