NETGEAR has expanded its Orbi Pro WiFi 6 Mesh System to the Orbi line of wireless products with an AX6000 Wi-Fi system that targets small businesses needing simplified wireless solutions.
Initially available in a two-node kit (one router and one satellite), NETGEAR will also be releasing a three-node kit (one router and two satellites) and four-node kit (one router and three satellites), as well individual add-on satellite products, later this month.
Built for businesses, the Orbi Pro WiFi 6 focuses on security, allowing business owners to have up to four networks/SSIDs with VLAN support - ideal for keeping networks, like those dedicated to guest and IoT devices, separate and secured from each other.
Admins can also manage their networks remotely using NETGEAR's Insight app, allowing them to setup their network and create isolated channels for employees, guests, and admins via a mobile device.
The tri-band, 12-stream (4 streams on 2.4GHz and 8 streams on 5GHz) Orbi Pro WiFi 6 uses its third wireless band for backhaul operations, dedicating its remaining two bands to mobile devices that need the isolated bandwidth.
Physical interfaces on each of the Orbi Pro WiFi 6 nodes include a 2.5GbE ethernet port (WAN) and four GbE ethernet ports (LAN), two of which have link aggregation capability.
Other listed features include WPA3 security, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, up to 6,000 sq. feet coverage with the two-node kit, and a one-year subscription to NETGEAR's Insight service for cloud-based monitoring and management.
Available today, the two-piece NETGEAR Orbi Pro WiFi 6 Tri-band Mesh System (SXK80) is priced at $769.99.
Available in late September, the three-node (SXK80B3), four-node kit (SXK80B4), and individual add-on node kit (SXS80) will be priced at $1099.99, $1499.99, and $419.99, respectively.
