Router DNS Settings not being applied?

Im trying to use google dns with the latest version of AsusWrt Merlin. Ive enabled the DNS based filtering, and set the global fiter to router, and input 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Whenever I got to https://www.dnsleaktest.com/ it is still showing up as my ISPs dns servers. The computers dns is set to 192.168.1.1 so i know its going through the router. Not sure what else to check.

Are the WAN setting

"Connect to DNS Server automatically" = No
"DNS Server1" = 8.8.8.8
"DNS Server2" = 8.8.4.4​

still there after reboot of the router?

I have the same issue! Recently, I noticed that my DNS queries being proxied elsewhere by my ISP (Optimum).

For example, using dnsleaktest, I can see that queries being redirected to:

This is not expected and produces less than optimal results for my attempts to check DNSBL's on connections to my mail server - see all 92.242.144.50 responses:
